General Meetings

Our general meetings are held October – May each year, generally on the 2nd Saturday of the month.  At these meetings which are open to the public, we provide programming that is intended to be educational and informative.  Some of the past meetings have included topics such as history of the South Shore section of Hillsborough County, the universe through the Hubble Telescope, and the Equal Rights Amendment.

See the General Meeting tab to see details of our next meeting, and meet us there.

Committees/Fund Raising

To do all of this work, our members participate on committees which include Education, STEM, Public Policy, Programs, Membership and Communications.

We do various fundraising activities to support our initiatives.  We have two big fundraising events a year to support the scholarship and Tech Trek initiatives.  Events have included a murder-mystery play featuring local actors, a trunk fashion show, women’s trivia, and Women of Distinction (profiling local accomplished women).  We also have book sales at Sun City Center Fun Fest and use funds collected at meetings and Bridge to Education to support our education initiatives.

Special Interest / Life Long Learning

With such a great group of women as members, we also provide opportunities for mental stimulation and networking.  We have groups that meet together, including a book club, bridge and mahjong.  Periodically we gather for another event, such as to see a movie related to our mission, such as “Gifted” (about a girl math whiz) and “RBG” (about Ruth Bader Ginsberg).
